TOP TIP

Please do keep in mind that the Turkish culture might be more conservative than your own. As a foreigner, understanding and respecting the culture of your host country can help you in many ways!
Please note application forms are very common on the Turkish job market: answer every question in the application form, never leave questions blank!

Photo

In Turkey, unlike North America, a photo is a plus, to be placed on the top left or right, beside a centred name (bolded and in at least two font sizes larger than the rest of the content). Make sure it looks professional. Check some CV photo tips here.

Turkish or English

When applying to multinational companies you may prefer to write your CV in English (or the language of the enterprise) but for companies (try to) write your CV in Turkish.

Date of birth

Including your place and date of birth is common practice for a Turkish CV. Some people might even add their age, however, we encourage you to stick to just your date of birth and not to put your age as it means you need to keep this up to date. Just your date of birth means you have less information to update :)

University education

The prestige of a university is a factor that many Turkish companies highly value.

Languages

Good native and foreign language skills are always of importance when applying for a high-level job in Turkey. Sometimes you may be asked to provide proof of your English language ability (usually through a test) in addition to your CV.
