TOP TIP

Contrary to CVs or resumes in some other countries, in a CV for the Swedish market, you should advertise yourself in a humble way. If you are in the beginning of your career, you are probably not yet an expert in a certain field ... instead of writing that you ‘produced high quality financial analyses’ while you were an intern, you might leave a better impression if you lose the ‘high quality’ part in that sentence.

Picture

Length

A Swedish CV is usually one to max 2 pages. If possible try and fit it on 1 page.

Date of birth

Mention your date of birth in a Swedish CV. Note that you write first the year, then the month and finally the day. Place of birth is less common.

Gaps in your CV

If you have a gap between your studies in which you weren’t working either, do explain it, especially if it is relevant to the job you are applying for. Furthermore, holiday jobs are appreciated as real work experience by Swedish recruiters.

Driving license
