TOP TIP
It is highly advisable to mention the average grade of your diploma on your CV, especially if you are in the top 10-20% of your class.
Photo
A picture on your CV is optional, but is commonly included on CVs of Polish applicants. It is advisable to take a high-quality profile/passport photo with a professional photographer if you decide to include a picture.
Personal Information
It is customary for a Polish CV to contain personal information, including date and place of birth, nationality, marital status and age. It is also important to make sure that your contact details (email, phone number and current address) are correct and up-to-date.
Professional Goals
Generally in a Polish CV a separate heading is included where professional goals and reasons for seeking a position are listed, maximum of 2-3 lines is preferred, keep this section as concise as possible.
Education
For a recent graduate with limited work experience, it would be advisable to mention your master courses and particular projects that might be relevant for the employer. If you did internships and part-time jobs during your studies, specify the tasks and responsibilities that you were given.
TIP – “Education Major”
Polish students and graduates would often list their major/specialization and faculty name along with the name of the institution. For example, a graduate from University of Warsaw would state that her faculty is Finance, Investment and Accounting with specialization in International Investment.
Work experience
Your CV should be modified for a particular job, with an emphasis on the competencies that are necessary to that vacancy. For example, if your work experience is relevant to the job you are applying for, but your education is not, the career section of your CV should appear before educational background. Reverse chronological order is preferred.
