You’re not listening to what people have to say
It can be difficult: You want to get a message across in only a limited amount of time. And it’s not only you. Everybody who’s attending the event wants to talk about their own business and get as much traction as possible. Use this to your advantage. Stop talking, start listening. See what opportunities are there for you to support others in their business, and it will come right back to you in a positive way.

You forget about the relationship
Networking is not necessarily about selling, it’s about creating partnerships. Never forget the reciprocal element! Difficult to see? Treat networking like dating: Before you decide to ‘get together’, you need to build some rapport.
