TOP TIP

It will be highly appreciated if, in your motivation letter, you are able to show your understanding of the regional differences in Spain. Make sure you share this understanding in a ‘natural way’.

Layout

A Spanish CV has a simple layout and is 1 to 2 pages max. The motivation letter and your personal recommendations are key in getting invited for the job interview.

Personal details

ID/Passport number and marital status are quite common to include in a Spanish CV.

Structure

Most important is a well-structured CV, not longer than two pages and with not too much spare white space between the headings.

Work experience

Regarding work experience it is important to mention all your former employers, including the tasks and responsibilities performed.

Headings

Make sure the format of your CV is clear. Use the formats bold or italic to emphasis your headings.

Grammar

Use present-tense when describing your responsibilities in your current job. (and needless to say, any typo will result in a decline of your application.)

Other activities

If you have attended major seminars, stayed abroad some time, written a publication, or followed an apprenticeship, do mention it under the heading other activities, or 'Otras actividades' in case you write your CV in Spanish (highly recommended).
