TOP TIP

Your CV for the Danish job market is simply a list of experiences. Your motivation and skills for the job need to be explained in the accompanying motivation letter.

General Information

Your Danish CV should always start with your name, address, and contact information. A photo is not expected by Danes, yet if you want to include one, you should make sure it looks professional. In general, your CV should be brief (max two pages) and neatly presented.

Personal details

It is not necessary to include date or place of birth or your nationality.

Education

List in reverse chronological order your academic background, including courses relevant to the job – especially those highlighting your leadership skills. If you are a recent graduate, it is advisable to include your grades or awards.

Grades

If you have grades from a country other than Denmark, it is handy to ‘translate’ your grades to Danish equivalents to ensure people understand the level of your achievements.

Work Experience

Listed again in reverse chronological order. Make sure to mention all relevant tasks you performed, since practical experience is highly valued by Danish employers.

References

It is common to provide references. You can add a referee per job. Make sure your referees have given their consent to be listed. Provide contact details.
